| The KLCFDC has a number of technology resources that are available to you. | ||||||||||||
First of all, as
the regional access point for the Canada-Ontario Business
Services Centre (COBSC) our offices are equipped with a public access workstation where you can connect
to the Internet. The COBSC is a joint government venture developed to provide access to information on
Federal and Provincial government programs and services for small business.
This information is available free of charge, for your use from Monday to Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. From our offices you can connect to Industry Canada's Strategis, strategis.ic.gc.ca, the most comprehensive business and consumer Internet site in Canada. Strategis has information on starting a business, exploring new markets, learning how to use the tools of electronic commerce, obtaining current information on legislation, regulations and standards and much, much more. |

Another
recent development from the COBSC web site is the Interactive Business Planner,
which can help you by explaining what a business plan is and how to identify and collect information on marketing,
regulations, financing and more. It also provides examples to help you write your own business plan and
you can save it, password protected, on the COBSC's server. As part of the COBSC's service, it's available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be located on the Internet at www.cbsc.org/ibp. |

| Additional information available through the COBSC website, which is located at www.cbsc.org/ontario, includes details on federal and provincial government programs and services for business. | ||||||||||||

| The KLCFDC is also equipped with a Community Access Program (CAP) ‘business workstation’, where you can not only connect to the Internet for information and correspondence but also use the computer for projects you may have. In addition, through the CAP Program, we can connect you to computer training and in fact, an entire network of CAP users, utilizing 81 stations at 29 locations throughout the City. | ||||||||||||
| The KLCFDC may also be able to provide a computer, for those who need computer time. We can provide this on a limited basis. We are also willing to help with selected office services, such as small volume photocopying or faxing. | ||||||||||||
