Community Assistance |
|
|
Beyond information and technology, the KLCFDC is well aware that there are
other needs for community groups within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
This is why we can consider applications
for financial assistance in the means of small grants or contributions to activities felt to be important
to the community and aligned with our overall goals and objectives.
If you or your organization have a valid program idea where a small capital infusion
is critical to the activity’s success, we may be able to help. From the ongoing input received from residents
and stakeholders throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes, we can assess and prioritize needs and determine which
initiatives may receive a contribution from us. And while our funding in this area is limited, our role in
community economic development may lead to further funding to assist the project. |
|
|
We often also provide support through an in-kind donation, such as by making our facilities available to groups for meetings and also by donating time to a project. Some examples of this could include:
Assisting in the development of historical resources in the City of Kawartha Lakes as they relate to tourism or through encouraging/ promoting of communities as visitor destinations. We can also work with community-based organizations in seeking assistance form other government organizations or agencies. In this case our support might include: |
|
- Developing strategic plans and initiatives,
- Encouraging non-resident, elder or seasonal resident involvement, or
- Encouraging youth development and employment.
